Who To Call In An Emergency

Picture of Gig Harbor, Washington taken by Ken Baker - Gig Harbor Ward

The purpose of this web page

The LDS church has suggested that each Ward and Stake should have an Emergency Preparedness Plan in the event of an emergency. The Plans will be prepared by each ward and stake welfare committee under the direction of the Bishop or Stake President. Plans will be updated periodically. It is suggested that the ward plan be modeled after the stake plan.  You can down load a copy of the Gig Harbor Emergency Preparedness Stake Plan on our EP Plans web page link. You will also find examples of other Ward Emergency Preparedness Plans on that page.

As a minimum, the following details should be included in the plans:
  • Disasters likely to occur and response actions needed.
  • Assignment of responsibilities to priesthood and Relief Society.
  • Maps, addresses, and contact information of members.
  • Procedure to account for missionaries and members following a disaster.
  • A list of members with special needs.
This web page is a part of our Gig Harbor Stake Emergency Preparedness plan. We have placed the information on this web page to help members of the Stake be better prepared by making available a stake emergency preparedness plan, by  sharing the ward emergency preparedness plans and encouraging each family to have their own family emergency preparedness plan. The contents of this web page are place here to help stake, ward, family and individual members have the resources necessary to create those plans.
